London Wall/Moorgate Oval Re-Landscaping Project
The London Wall/Moorgate Oval Re-landscaping project is part of the City of London Corporation's Cool Streets and Greening Programme, which seeks to enhance green spaces and introduce climate resilient planting.
The re-landscaping improvements will deliver a range of benefits:
- Enhanced biodiversity and climate resilience, with the introduction of multi-stem trees and additional planting
- Protection of the existing mature tree at Moorgate
- A new pathway providing an additional route to Moorgate station
- Introduction of additional seating for people to rest and enjoy the space
The works commence on 2 December 2024 and will last approximately four months. Any changes to the walking and wheeling routes during the construction phase will be clearly sign-posted.
Construction phases
Construction will be delivered in the following phases:
Phase 1: Site preparation works and demolitions (December 2024 – January 2025)
Phase 2: Construction of planters (January – March 2025)
Phase 3: Planting, including tree planting and construction of pathway (March/April 2025)
Phase 4: Repaving and street furniture install (April 2025)
The works are to be delivered by the City’s highway contractor, FM Conway. Works will be undertaken during the following hours:
- Monday to Friday: 8am - 6pm
- Saturday: 9am - 2pm (no noisy works restriction)
- Sunday: no work to be undertaken
