Exhibition: Ranger's Golden Jubilee
For centuries Epping Forest was a royal hunting ground, but in 1878 its ownership passed to the City of London Corporation. The Epping Forest Act maintained a royal connection by giving the Crown the right to appoint a Ranger.
This fascinating exhibition looks at royal links with the Forest since 1878 and highlights the contribution of the Rangers, most notably HRH Richard, Duke of Gloucester. In 2025 he celebrates fifty years as Ranger.
