Join Kamal U Din, student at King's College London for a talk exploring 19th century educator Dr. Leitner and his vision for Oriental Studies.

Gottlieb Wilhelm Leitner (1840–1899) was a prominent Orientalist of the 19th century. He came from a diverse family background, with many of his relatives being men of letters, doctors, and theologians.

This talk will explore Leitner's life and academic vision drawing in his interest in Eastern literature, his knowledge of multiple languages and correspondence encouraging the teaching of Eastern languages.
