I'm Not Okay (an Emo Retrospective)
Lewis Hancox: A Night of Y2K Emo Nostalgia
Following the run of the Museum of Youth Culture’s highly popular exhibition 'I’m Not Okay (an emo retrospective)' at the Barbican Music Library, we welcome comedy creator and author-illustrator Lewis Hancox for a night of nostalgia as he shares stories from his trans teen years in the early 2000s, and how they became the inspiration for his graphic memoirs "Welcome to St Hell" and "Escape from St Hell".
He'll showcase some of his real Y2K relics, screen some exclusive cringey content from his past and provide a safe space to talk about all things trans, LGBTQ and more - set to an epic emo playlist. Followed by a book signing so bring your copies or purchase one at the event.
Stickers and more merch will be available too!
If you have a disability you wish us to consider when attending our events, please inform the staff in advance by emailing Barbican Music Library.
