Would you like 10 free piano lessons with a talented Guildhall School of Music and Drama student? Those aged 60+, and City of London residents, are eligible to enter the draw to get a place on the People’s Pianos Project 2024. Beginners and those with more experience are welcome to apply.

People's Pianos has been running annually since 2013 - it is a collaboration between Barbican Library and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. GSMD students are required to undertake a teaching component of their course, and Barbican Library provides the pupils.

The aims of the scheme are to improve and foster good relationships between different generations, help City of London residents and Guildhall students feel at home in the Barbican Centre and the Barbican Library, and support education and learning.

The scheme is always popular so we are entering all eligible names into a draw. To enter, please fill in this form.

Alternatively email Barbican Music Library or call 020 7638 0672 and please confirm you are aged 60+, live in the City, and have not taken part in the scheme before.

The lessons usually start from Autumn 2024 at an agreed time each week (or fortnight). Lessons are held in Barbican Music Library on the electronic pianos, with headphones provided.
