Shifting Narratives responds to the diverse needs and aspirations of refugee communities, whilst valuing and sustaining their cultural heritages. The works in the exhibition, co-created with refugees and asylum seekers across three east London boroughs, challenge dominant design practice and bring to the forefront their stories and collective visions for a more equitable and sustainable future.

The exhibition is part of Decolonising Fashion and Textiles – Design for Cultural Sustainability with Refugee Communities, a collaborative project funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, led by Dr Francesco Mazzarella and curated by Camilla Palestra (Centre for Sustainable Fashion, UAL).
