The Gunpowder Plot

Join Shoe Lane Library for a group discussion of the mystery of The Gunpowder Plot - a conspiracy to blow up the Houses of Parliament under the reign of James I to restore Catholic reign in England which failed, leading to the conspirators being tortured.

We will examine the evidence and consider the motives for orchestrating this plot, how it failed and what impact it had on history then and today.

This talk will be held via Zoom. Sources will be sent prior to the discussion.
