Join us in the morning at Keats House, when the Chester Room will be filled with toys, crafts, refreshments and space to relax, just for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers - and their adults! The rest of the house will be open to look round as normal, where you can discover the story of Keats and his poetry.

Please note we cannot admit adults without children at this event.

Space in the Chester Room is limited, but we will accommodate drop-ins at quiet times if we can. Please book in advance to guarantee entry.

Can I pay on the door?

Capacity is limited as we can only accommodate 25 people in the Chester Room at one time. During quieter times, we may be able to admit drop-ins. To guarantee entry, we recommend booking in advance.

We recommend booking online to guarantee entry. You may be able to pay on the door for the event at quiet times.

Can I bring older children?

This event is aimed at under 5s, but you are welcome to bring older children with your under 5s.

How old do I need to be to accompany a child to this event?

You must be over 18 years old to accompany a child at this event. All children must be accompanied by an adult with a paid ticket.

Can I leave my child while I look round the house?

Parents and carers remain responsible for supervising their children during their visit, and children must be accompanied at all times. Staff cannot be responsible for supervising children.

Can I visit on other days when the house is open?

Parents/carers and their children are always welcome to visit whenever the house is open. However, for just this morning there will be additional things offered in the Chester Room including refreshments and toys. We hope this will make your visit easier and more entertaining.

Is there buggy parking?

Buggies can be left outside the back door of the house. Please note these buggies will not be supervised and we recommend you take any valuables with you.

Is there a café on site?

Unfortunately we do not have a café, but there will be some snacks available in the house for adults and children, and there are plenty of eateries in the local area.

Can I take my buggy round the house?

We ask that buggies are not taken round the house – these can be left outside the back door.

Is there baby change?

There is one accessible toilet with a baby changing facility in the garden, adjacent to the house. You are also welcome to change your baby in the house.

Can I feed my baby at the house?

You are welcome to feed your baby within the house. Extra chairs will be made available at this event. Unfortunately we do not have any bottle-warming facilities.

How long can I stay?

The house will be open from 11am-1pm and 2-5pm. Your ticket allows you entry to the house for the whole day so you can drop in at any time and stay as long as you like during those hours. This event only takes place in the morning.

Will the garden be open?

The garden is open while the house is open, and is free to visit.

Can I take photos inside the house?

Photos can be taken for personal use and without flash in the house. You are of course welcome to take pictures of your children, but we ask that you try to avoid any other children in your photos, and do not post pictures of other children on social media.

My child has dietary requirements, what should I do?

There will be a small range of snacks available for children at the event. If your child has allergies and you aren’t sure if the snacks are suitable, please do speak to a member of staff who can advise, or feel free to bring your own snacks with you.

What is the cost?

There will be a special reduced rate of £2.50 for adults, and children (18 and under) go free.

Can I visit the house without children?

This is an event for parents/carers and early-years children. Unfortunately we cannot admit adults to the event in the Chester Room without children. The rest of the house will be open to the public and the Chester Room will reopen to the public in the afternoon.
