Advising you on what to do

The person you speak to will advise you on the course of action that may be necessary to remove the danger and the steps to be taken to safeguard the public. Whenever possible, the owner is given the option to undertake the necessary remedial work.

If it is necessary to deal with any immediate danger, our staff will arrange for the City Corporation's emergency contractor to carry out the work. The owner is liable for the cost.

If emergency services are involved

Where our responsibilities overlap with other emergency services, we maintain a close liaison to ensure safety at all times.

If a major civil emergency occurs, the 'City of London Corporation's Emergency Plan' would involve our staff in respect of dangerous buildings affected by such an incident.
