Advice and training in health and safety
Our remit includes the provision of free advice to individuals and organisations on their duties.
We are happy to answer any questions you may have and can discuss coming to your workplace to talk to you or colleagues on any health and safety subject. You may contact us via the link to the Public Protection Team above.
We are able to signpost you to a variety of health and safety information sources, many of which are available as free downloads from the Health and Safety Executive's website. In particular the HSE have a microsite and various toolkits labelled as H&S ABC to assist small and medium sized enterprises in understanding and complying with UK health and safety law.
We are also available to give talks and presentations to a range of interest groups both locally and nationally in order to promote health and safety in the 'Square Mile' and the work of the City of London Corporation generally. We are currently running a successful Work at Height workshop for organisations to raise awareness regarding the hierarchy of controls and how to assess and control relevant contractors. This is available free to companies based or working in the Square Mile - please get in touch if you are interested.
We are also currently able to assist in helping organisations achieve accreditation in the London Healthy Workplaces Charter. Further details regarding the Charter and our involvement are available on our London healthy workplace charter page.
Formal health and safety training is not provided by us. However, a number of professional institutes and bodies exist that provide and endorse health and safety training nationally and links are provided below to their websites.
