Transhipments
The person responsible for consignments of products of animal origin, germinal products, animal by-products, hay and straw and composite products from Third Countries, transhipped from one vessel to another, must pre-notify London Port Health Authority.
You must do this by sending us a completed CV25 Transhipment pre-notification form after the containers have been held by Port Health and at least 48 hours before the departure of the outbound vessel. This will allow us to release the containers ahead of their scheduled transhipment.
A Microsoft Word version is available on request. Please email Port Health if you need a Word version.
Please do not send the list with more than 50 containers and never before the containers are on hold in the relevant manifests, otherwise this may cause problems during its processing, as well as unnecessary delays.
We endeavour to remove the Port Health hold 48 hours before the ETA of the outbound vessel, but it remains your responsibility to make sure the Port Health hold has been removed from the system to allow the transhipment.
We reserve the right to request further documents like copies of Bill of Lading, etc.
If the consignments from outside the UK as described above are not transhipped within 30 days of arrival, they will be required to undergo veterinary checks (for some products the deadline is 90 days). For that, a CHEDP and relevant documents need to be sent to us before we are able to release the container for transhipment.
