Funded through the GLA, the City of London Corporation Adult Skills and Education service is offering this Retrofit Bootcamp designed to upskill individuals, enhancing their career opportunities and creating value within their organizations.

This intensive eight week bootcamp, delivered virtually, aims to secure job interviews for 100% of participants who successfully complete the program. In partnership with TRA, the City of London Corporation will provide this training through TRA's blended delivery method, which combines skills coaches with a state-of-the-art e-learning platform. The training program, starting in September 2024, will ensure that all learners achieve at least a Level 3 qualification in a retrofit-related field by March 2025.

The Retrofit Academy are delivering a comprehensive training program to equip learners with the necessary skills and qualifications in energy and retrofit assessment. This program aims to address the growing demand for qualified domestic energy assessors and retrofit assessors.

The Training Program

Course:

  • Level 3 Domestic Energy Assessment (DEA)
  • Domestic Retrofit Assessment
  • Qualification guarantees a job interview and sustainable employment

Duration:

  • eight-week program (Level 3 DEA Certificate)
  • two weeks of tutor-led teaching (weeks one and five) (Venue and location to be confirmed)
  • six weeks of portfolio building on the TRA Learner Management System (LMS)

Delivery dates:

Course one - 23 September to 15 November

Course two - 4 November to 27 December

Course three - 27 January to 21 March 2025

Course Content

The awarding body (ABBE), Level 3 Certificate in Domestic Energy Assessment, gives you the knowledge, skills, and confidence to produce quality property assessments on domestic properties, including collecting the property level data of the building, floorplan and in order to produce an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC).

There are a total of four units:

  • Conducting Energy Assessments
  • Preparing for Energy Assessments
  • Undertaking Energy Inspections
  • How to produce and explain Energy Performance Certificates

Eligibility Requirements

  • Level 1 English or above
  • Good standard of maths
  • Basic computer skills
  • Aged 19+ as of 31 August 2024
  • London resident, right to study and work in the UK
