Golden Lane Estate Listed Building Management Guidelines
Golden Lane Estate is a mixed use development, built between 1953 and 1962 by the City of London Corporation, originally as a social housing estate, designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bonn. It includes a leisure centre and swimming pool, community centre and more than 500 flats.
In 1997 the whole estate was listed, including the landscaping and public areas at Grade II but Crescent House was separately listed at Grade II*.
In 2007 the Listed Building Management Guidelines were prepared to help residents, those managing the estate and planning officers to assess what kind of work will need listed building consent. The Guidelines are a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD). In 2013 an updated version was adopted, reflecting changes in legislation and filling in gaps in the Guidelines that had become apparent since it had been published.
There is an accompanying Guide for residents.
