Date updated: 19/07/2024
You can call Adult Social Care on 020 7332 1224 (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) or 020 8356 8855/020 8356 2300 (outside normal working hours).
The reform will mean that there are changes to Adult Social Care that will help us provide greater choice for those receiving care, opportunity for those providing it and certainty over costs.
Residents will have:
- The choice to request the local authority to broker your care and for you to take advantage of the local authority care rates.
- A new £86,000* cap on care costs and provide more generous help with money to those without many assets, meaning that nobody should spend more than £86,000* on personal care over their lifetime.
- Assurance that the social care services in your area is high quality and delivering towards the Care Quality Commission (CQC) framework.
- Access to a healthy care market in your area with quality care homes and residential care should you need the support. Please note, there are no residential/nursing homes within the City of London.
More information will be added to this page as it becomes available.
*The government has taken a decision to delay the care cap from October 2023 until 2025.
