About the Centre for Finance, Innovation, and Technology
The Chancellor announced an independent review of UK Fintech in the 2020 Spring Budget. The Review was led by Sir Ron Kalifa and was published in February 2021 (The Kalifa review of UK fintech). The Kalifa review recommended the establishment of a Centre for Finance, Innovation and Technology (CFIT).
At their Spending Review in 2021, the government confirmed it would provide seed funding to get CFIT up and running. HM Treasury selected the City of London Corporation as the delivery partner. A Steering Committee (SteerCo), chaired by Sir Ron Kalifa, is now working on developing proposals for CFIT.
CFIT has named Charlotte Crosswell OBE as its first Chair and Ezechi Britton as CEO.
