Telecommunications in the City of London
Telecommunications
The City of London is served by over 10 independent telecommunications fibre optic networks offering “leased line” services (CenturyLink, Colt, Eu Networks, Interroute, Openreach, SSE Telecoms, Verizon, Virgin Media, Vodafone, Vorboss, Zayo), with hundreds of Internet Service Providers offering leased line services over Openreach’s network. These networks provide City businesses with unparalleled connectivity, speed, and resilience to support business operations throughout the Square Mile.
Communal Entry Chambers - our award-winning project
The City of London pioneered the development and use of Communal Entry Chambers which are installed into new developments to allow businesses to “plug and play” when moving into a new building, without the need to dig up the streets to install new cabling. The scheme won an award in 2013 from the National Joint Utilities Group (NJUG).
