History

The Church is best known as the burial place of the Samuel Pepys who had strong connections with the area. It is also the last resting place of the 16th century botanist, William Turner, known as ‘the father of English botany’ with the churchyard including plants associated with him. The garden also includes a pavement labyrinth which has a Jerusalem Cross as its centrepiece.
