Foreword from the Chair of Digital Services Committee

I am delighted to introduce the City of London Corporation's new Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) strategy, which sets out our vision and ambitions for transforming the way we deliver our services and support our communities.
This is the first time in the history of the organisation where we have had a single strategy to cover all parts of the City of London Corporation, including our Institutions, and I commend the collaborative approach taken to deliver this.
The City of London Corporation is a global leader in innovation and finance, and we want to ensure that our digital infrastructure and capabilities match the high standards and expectations of our stakeholders.
We recognise that digital, data and technology are not only tools to improve efficiency and effectiveness, but also enablers of innovation and transformation. That is why we have developed this DDaT strategy, which outlines our strategic objectives and principles for the next five years. The strategy is aligned with our Corporate Plan and supports our wider goals.
The strategy is also informed by extensive engagement and consultation with our people, including those at our Institutions as well as input from our Members. We have listened to their feedback and needs, and we have identified five strategic outcomes that we aim to achieve by 2026:
  • Focus on Brilliant Basics: we will ensure that our core systems and processes are reliable, user-friendly and fit for purpose.
  • Technology Convergence: we will rationalise and integrate our technology platforms and applications, and adopt common standards and architectures.
  • Become Data Driven to improve decisions: we will harness the power of data and analytics to inform our decision making and service delivery.
  • Transforming services through responsible use of Automation & AI: we will explore and implement innovative solutions that use automation and artificial intelligence to enhance our efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Develop Digital Skills and Share Expertise: we will build a digitally skilled and confident workforce, and share our knowledge and best practices with our partners and stakeholders.

The DDaT strategy is an ambitious and exciting roadmap for the future of the City of London Corporation. It reflects our commitment to being a modern, agile and innovative organisation, and to providing the best possible services and experiences for those we serve.

I would like to thank everyone who has contributed to the development of this strategy, and I look forward to working with you all to make it a reality.

    Councillor Dawn Wright
