Join Val Woodgate at Shoe Lane Library for a lecture on world-renowned artist Pablo Picasso and his women.

This talk examines the way Picasso’s emotional life influenced what he painted and how he painted it. His response to each new love in his life can be seen in the different styles in which his many women were represented. When he fell out of love, that fact would be revealed first in his paintings. We will concentrate on the seven most important women in his life, two of whom he married.

Val Woodgate is a lecturer and guide at Tate Britain and Tate Modern. She is also lecturer to The Arts Society (formerly NADFAS) throughout Britain, and to related organisations in Europe, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

This event will be delivered online and in person at Shoe Lane Library. For more information and to book tickets, please click Book Tickets.
