Digital Skills Bootcamps
Funded through the GLA, and in partnership with our digital training specialist companies, the City of London Corporation Adult Skills and Education service is currently able to offer Digital Skills Bootcamps to upskill individuals to enhance their career opportunities and create value in the organisations they work in. These intensive twelve week hybrid bootcamps aim to get 100% of all people who successfully complete into a job interview with a recognised Digital Skills employer.
The programmes currently being run are:
Our City Cyber Course offers intensive, hands-on training providing a path to becoming a cybersecurity professional. This makes it an ideal choice for those eager to enter this field. You will be learning about the concepts of cyber security including encryption, programming fundamentals with Python, certificate security, Introduction to Cisco and learning to use the command line interface for the Linux operating system. This programme is delivered in person and online with tutor-led sessions, in addition to support sessions, e-learning resources and self-study. You will be working with your peers on different projects.
Upon successfully completing the course, you will be awarded an industry standard Cisco accreditation in Introduction to Cybersecurity and a certificate validating your achievement and highlighting the skills you've gained during the course. You will have a portfolio of some of the work you have completed on the course along with lots of new skills to update your CV with. We will be working with you to put in place your guaranteed interview at the end of the course.
Commencing 6 January 2025.
In-person days: Tuesday and Thursday
Location: Walbrook Wharf, 78-83 Upper Thames Street, EC4R 3TD
Online days: Monday, Wednesday and Friday (you will require a laptop and internet access to complete this course)
Time: 10am - 3pm (Lunch 12-1)
Assessment: 10-hour assessment (to be scheduled at the beginning of the 12 weeks)

- Assessment and Introduction to Cybersecurity - Introduction concepts of cyber security including encryption
- Introduction to Python - Programming fundamentals with the Python scripting language
- Cyber - Fundamental concepts of cyber security
- Cisco Introduction to Cyber Security with Exam - Cisco’s industry recognised qualification
- Linux - Learning to use the command line interface for the Linux operating system
- Networking - Understanding the basics of networking and interconnected devices
- Further Networking - Continued learning on networking and common security vulnerabilities and exploits
- Digital Forensics and Open-Source Intelligence - Tools and processes used to investigate cyber crime
- Ethical Hacking - Understand how to defend against attacks by using standard tools
- OWASP - How to defend from attacks against web applications
- Developing a Security Case - Understand what a security case is, and the types of information gathered and circulated
Our City Data Science Course offers intensive, hands-on training designed to prepare you for a career as a data science professional. This makes it an ideal choice for those eager to enter this dynamic field. You will learn essential data science concepts, including data analysis, Python programming fundamentals, statistical modelling, data visualization, and machine learning. The program is delivered in person and online through tutor-led sessions, supplemented by support sessions, e-learning resources, and opportunities for self-study. You will also collaborate with your peers on various data-driven projects, gaining practical experience in real-world scenarios.
Upon successfully completing the course, you will be awarded a certificate validating your achievement and highlighting the skills you've gained during the course. You will have a portfolio of some of the work you have completed on the course along with lots of new skills to update your CV with. We will be working with you to put in place your guaranteed interview at the end of the course.

Assessment: A place on the course will only be offered after successful completion of an assessment (to be scheduled at the beginning of the 12 weeks)
