Health and Wellbeing Courses
Switch off those television dance shows and learn the poise, steps, and artistry of Ballroom and Latin dancing for yourself! You’ll discover popular styles, including the Waltz, Tango, Quickstep, Foxtrot, Rumba, Cha Cha Cha, Samba, and Jive. Alongside mastering the steps and refining your style and technique, you’ll improve your fitness and make new friends – no partner required. This course is ideal for beginners, improvers, and those returning to dance who want to brush up on their basics.
Ballroom and Latin dancing is an equal partnership between a ‘leader’ and a ‘follower’. In essence, the leader initiates a dance move, and the follower responds, completing the movement. Traditionally, men dance as leaders and women as followers, but anyone is welcome to choose either role.
Please select the role of leader or follower when enrolling. If your chosen role is fully booked and you do not wish to learn the opposite role, please add your name to the waiting list. Additional spaces may become available depending on the ratio of leaders to followers who enrol.
