Philosophy
The philosophy class welcomes aspiring and well-versed philosophers. In the autumn term, the course will focus on Geography and Philosophy. You will investigate topics such as humans in their space, population, inequality, critical geopolitics and globalisation. In the spring term, you will explore Politics, Science and Philosophy.
Topics will include scientific work and political authority, climate change, science, democracy, and the politicisation of science. In the summer term, the focus will concentrate on Culture and Politics in Walter Benjamin, including Benjamin on Kafka, why books matter and how films change everything.
This is a blended course. You will meet in person three to four times a term, in agreement with the group.

To be eligible for funding on our free courses you should be a UK national or an EEA national with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme and have been resident in the UK/EEA for the past three years. To be eligible for concessionary rates, you need to meet the aforementioned criteria and be 60 years of age or over, or be in receipt of Universal Credit Proof may be required, more information about this is on the enrolment form.
