This Level 1 qualification introduces the role of a bookkeeper and the underpinning knowledge to identify and carry out simple different bookkeeping activities, such as income and expenditure, profit and loss, and assets and liabilities. It also offers an introduction into the role, and the benefits and risks associated with bookkeeping software. There is no need for any prior accounting or bookkeeping knowledge. It provides a solid grounding for students before moving on to the Level 2 qualifications.

Studying this qualification will develop practical accountancy skills in the double-entry bookkeeping system and in using associated documents and processes while gaining an understanding that digital accounting systems are automating some of the stages in the process. Students will cover transactions for accuracy, make entries in appropriate books and ledgers and calculate sales invoices and credit notes.

To provide candidates with an appreciation of the fundamentals of first aid for anyone who may be left in charge of low risk premises and therefore may be required to administer First Aid.
Course Content: Care of unconscious, Resuscitation/AED, Shock, Choking, Heart Attack, Epilepsy, Control of bleeding, Burns and scalds, First Aid Boxes, Accidents and investigations.
The course includes lectures enhanced by audio/visual material and practical teaching aids. Delegates are encouraged to actively participate in discussion sessions and group activities.
Successful candidates receive an accredited certificate which is valid for three years.

It will enable learners to engage with digital services and products in everyday life. Learners who achieve this qualification could progress to Level 1 Essential Digital Skills.

Progress from here to the Essential Digital Skills qualification at Entry Three.

If you work or volunteer in a role that involves or supervises the handling or preparation of food you will need to gain this Level 2 qualification. So, no matter whether you are working in a bar, restaurant, a school, sell your own street food or work in any environment where you handle or prepare food, you will be legally required to pass a Level 2 Food Safety & Hygiene Certificate.

This Level 1 short introductory qualification aims to provide learners with skills in volunteering that will be useful in any sector. It aims to enable learners to understand volunteering and voluntary organisations, working as a volunteer within an organisation and find out about becoming a volunteer.

The Award in Sewing and Textiles Level 1 is a comprehensive introductory course designed to provide participants with the foundational knowledge and practical skills required for sewing and textile craftsmanship. This qualification is designed for learners aged pre-16 and above who wish to develop skills and knowledge in craft, with a unit dedicated to creating, presenting and reviewing a textiles item.

To be eligible for funding on our free courses you should be a UK national or an EEA national with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme and have been resident in the UK/EEA for the past three years. Proof may be required, more information about this is on the enrolment form.
