Wifi

Free wifi is available in all our libraries. You are also welcome to use laptops and other mobile devices in our libraries and some dedicated sockets are provided for such use.

Computers

Our computers are available free of charge, for members and non-members and provide internet access, printing, and Microsoft Office. Turn up on the day or book up to 24 hours in advance by telephone.

All public computer terminals are shut down 15 minutes before the library closing time.

Printing, scanning and photocopying

You can print in our libraries directly from your mobile phone. This service is provided by Kuario. Printing facilities are also available using our PCs. 

What is Kuario?

Kuario is a completely serverless and cloud based service which allows you to use Wi-Fi printers. The service is GDPR compliant, and all user data is fully encrypted.

How can I use Kuario Wi-Fi printing?

You can use Wi-Fi printing:

  • from your laptop or mobile phone, with a Kuario account and using the Kuario app. Load monies on to your Kuario account in advance.
  • without a Kuario account, printing from your mobile phone - paying by cash or card, as long as the item you want to print is saved on your mobile phone (you must be able to scan QR codes using the camera on your phone).
  • using a library PC - with or without a Kuario account.

The simplest way to print is to create a Kuario account and download the Kuario app from the Play Store or the App Store.

Photocopying with Kuario

  • Make your copy and pay using your Kuario app.
  • Or make your copy and pay using cash or card.

Scanning with Kuario

  • You can use the printer to scan documents for free.
  • You will be asked for an email address before you scan your document and the file will be sent directly to that inbox.

  • 10p per black and white A4 side
  • 20p per black and white A3 side
  • 50p per colour A4 side
  • £1 per colour A3 side
  • Scanning is free
