The City of London Corporation has produced a Healthy Streets Plan to provide a framework for improvements to the streets and spaces in the area around Liverpool Street Station. The plan was adopted by the City Corporation in May 2024 and the streets and public spaces in the Liverpool Street Area will be made more accessible, engaging and safer places for people to walk, cycle and spend time in. Individual projects will be developed from the Liverpool Street Area Healthy Streets Plan as funding becomes available.

Please see the final plan adopted by the City of London Corporation at the bottom of this webpage.

What is a Healthy Street approach?

A healthy streets approach is a system of policies and strategies to help create a vibrant, successful city where people can live active, healthy lives by helping Londoners use cars less and walk, cycle and use public transport more. It aims to create streets that feel pleasant, safe, and attractive and identify the barriers to movement that restrict the community, particularly the most vulnerable.
