Bank Holiday recycling and waste collections

Date updated: 14/04/2025

The City of London Corporation does not provide any recycling or waste collections on bank holidays.

If your property does not have a binstore and you usually put your clear recycling and white general waste bags on the street for collection, please do not put your bags out on a bank holiday (or Sunday). Please keep your bags inside your property until your next collection day – this is usually the next working day or the Saturday after Good Friday between 6pm - 8pm. This is in order to comply with the City’s bagged waste restrictions. For more information go to recycling and waste for properties without a binstore.

If you live in a private block with a binstore or on an estate, your next collection will be the next working day. For more information go to recycling and waste from your property.

If you live on an estate, and your doorstep collection of recycling and food waste is on a bank holiday, please do not put your clear recycling bags or food caddies out for collection on the doorstep. Please use the recycling and food bins in your communal bin store or put out on your next doorstep collection day.
