The City has long been established as a global financial centre, but has now evolved into a dynamic tech landscape, with over 2,830 active tech Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) headquartered here, many of them in early development stages. Notably, it's home to more fintech SMEs than any other local authority in the UK, underscoring the City's role as a bridge between traditional finance and emerging tech.
This report highlights the clustering, key subsectors, investment, and demography of tech SMEs across the City and includes four case studies of tech businesses in different sectors. The findings will act as an evidence base when the City of London Corporation develops future support for SMEs in the City.
