The City as a place for people.
Talent is now more important than ever, spurred by the advent of new technologies and changing ways of working. Businesses are adopting a range of strategies to attract highly skilled and mobile professionals, leveraging buildings and place to secure the brightest and best.
City as a Place for People draws on a comprehensive programme of research – fresh insights have been gathered from 65 respondents, including key property industry figures and representatives from some of the Square Mile’s leading firms, as well as mobile skilled professionals.
The programme encompassed in-depth interviews, focus groups and roundtables carried out by the City of London with the City Property Association, in conjunction with New London Architecture, and Cushman & Wakefield.
We found that place increasingly matters for doing business, because talented people want to work in lively places with a variety of things to eat, see and do and in buildings that help them create and collaborate. Indeed, nearly 90% of global institutional investors surveyed identified London as the best European city for financial services talent. Now more than ever, the Square Mile is a place where innovative new buildings and vibrant places can be found.
