Join Shoe Lane and Seif El Rashidi for a talk on engaging the British public with Islamic Art.

Hands On Islamic Art: Celebrating Multicultural Britain Through Heritage.

In this talk, Seif El Rashidi, Director of The Barakat Trust, will talk about a 3-year programme funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund that supports initiatives to work with objects from the Islamic world in UK museums to engage with the public. Hands On Islamic Art engages members of the public as active participants in discovering and sharing the stories of artefacts. In the process, the projects it supports creates community connections, fosters understanding, and highlight the history of Britain as a multicultural place.
